Trails are a real mess, to the point, that I doubt that they will be groomed again this season. Due to last Fridays snow/ice storm there are many trees and limbs on the trails. The Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Club was out attempting to clear the Trail System over the weekend. There was 36 man hours with chain saws cutting and dragging limbs off the Trail. After 36 hours there are about 7 miles cleared enough to get a groomer down the trail. Thats 5 hours per mile average, times 92 remining miles equals 460 man hours to open trails back up.
With the warm weather this week, there is no way to get the groomers back out prior to the snow melting!

We were able to clear and groom at least 75% of the trails this week end. What is groomed is in excellent condition. Many trees down on the uncleared sections. The Overlook is not groomed but had skiers Sun and the trails east of Stoney ridge rd crossing have not been opened yet

The Ogemaw Hills Trail System is in good condition. The trails were last groomed Monday night, but it was decided not to groom since, due to high temps. Trails are in good condition because of the lack of traffic throughout the week. With the temps dropping Saturday Night the Club groomed Saturday Night.
Come on out and enjoy what could be your last ride this season, with temperatures forecasted for 50 degrees by the end of next week. BE SAFE AND ENJOY OUR GREAT TRAIL SYSTEM!

The trails were last groomed Monday night. The trails Tuesday were reported to be in the best condition that they have been in all year. Early Wednesday morning our area received another 6-8 inches which adds up to 16 inches of snow within a week. Temps the rest of the week are to be in the mid 30's, so it should still be good riding thru the weekend, then temperatures go into the mid 40's.
Groomers were scheduled to out Wednesday night, but they are not going out because the snow is to wet. The trails with the additional snow today are assume. If you want some great riding, now is the time to hit the trails.
