Rifle River Recreation Area
The Rifle River Recreation Area covers 4,329 acres in Ogemaw County, and is the most predominant recreation facility in the watershed. The park offers 159 campsites, has several hiking trails and several lakes in its boundaries. From biking to fishing to relaxing to birdwatching, the Rifle River Recreation Area is the perfect setting to enjoy your visit to Ogemaw County.
Irons Park
A Municipal Park located on the West Branch of the Rifle River just S of Houghton Avenue on S Valley & Shrigley Streets. Amenities include: Ft. Austin - a modern playscape, reservable shelters for picnics or weddings, bathroom facilities, tennis & basketball courts. The Rivertrail also runs throughout the park and connects to downtown Victorian West Branch.

Victorian Art Fair - West Branch, MI
This is a two-day Victorian-themed extravaganza and showcases the work of more than 275 juried vendors offering handmade crafts of every conceivable art. The whole family will enjoy all-day free entertainment on the outdoor stage and they can choose from a variety of summer's favorite foods and snacks.
Fall Colors - West Branch
The Hills of Ogemaw County are known for their breathtaking beauty when it comes to fall colors. So even our trip from town to the recreation area was a fantastic autumn color tour. Trees ablaze in gold, reds and orange give way to the splendor of the hills. The landscape was a real surprise and I can understand why people would make this trip just to travel through the Ogemaw Hills.

Winter Fun
Ogemaw County is well known for its outstanding cross country ski trails. Ogemaw Hills Pathway is located at the corner of Fairview and Clear Lakes Roads. The trails wind through approximately 15 miles of the Ausable State Forest providing groomed cross country trails for all skill levels. Because of its location skiers can usually count on 6 to 10 more inches of snow on the trails than in the lower areas around West Branch and Rose City due to the elevation difference.
Whatever your preference for outdoor activities in the wintertime, come to Ogemaw County and enjoy the best that nature has to offer. Snowmobilers will find 95 miles of some of the finest groomed trails in Michigan. Easy access to snowmobile trails is one of the many pluses you will find in Ogemaw County. Check with your hotel for the easiest route to any of the trails in the system. Current snow and ski conditions reports are available 24 hours a day at 800-755-9091 during the winter season.
