Well hard to believe that March 5th we are done (looking at the forecast the next couple of weeks). It sure was nice around here while it lasted. Problem is we didnt have a very long riding season at all. That's the beauty of Michigan... Unpredictable. I hope everyone had some good rides in this year, & had positive stories to report back. Time to get those sleds washed & put away for next year. I want to Thank everyone that made our trails so pristine this year. Starting out with the brushing & Grading done in the late fall by club volunteers in getting them prepped for winter. Then we had the 1st snow that put so many trees down... We had an army of helpers clearing them. And of course our Groomers for keeping them smooth during the riding season. Can't forget our annual Vintage show that brought so many happy faces from young to old. We had well over 1000 people attend, with 212 sleds registered, & 110 sleds made the guided trail ride. A BIG Thank You to Doug & the Volunteers for all of their hard work & a great show. Unless we get some more snow to restart things, Im signing out for this season...I hope I kept you informed as accurately as I could. Stay safe, & enjoy the next few seasons before we hit it again... Don’t forget to Support your local snow club & meet fellow riders sharing the passion of snowmobiling. Also Remember to support the MISORVA (they are here for us!) Our Address to Frank Alley Parking Lot: 2986 N. Fairview Rd. West Branch

Wave goodbye to the snow! Ground is still covered with a foot in many places but no new snow in the forecast. Going to lose snow every day in the next 7 days.

Hello riders, well the pristine trails are coming to an end, as Mother Nature always gets the final say. Trails are hanging in there... One member called them "Mashed Potatoes" - We still have a good base, and decent riding, but unless we get some more cold or snowstorms, its gonna be mixed conditions, especially this weekend. Trails are hard & icy & Road crossings are thin & muddy. It WILL be FULL in our parking lot this Saturday with the Vintage show. If all you want to do is ride, you may want to consider a different staging area. If you do come to Frank Alley in the Am, please respect the attendants that will park you. We will be parking everyone tight. A great time to take a day off riding to come see some awesome vintage sleds! THIS SATURDAY….… OHSC 53rd Anniversary & 9th Vintage Sled Show / Ride February 27, 2021 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm https://ohsconline.com/index.php/vintage-ride-show/info/ If you like Vintage sleds, or want to come check out our club, This is a MUST see event! Come say Hi to my wife & I as we will be at the far entrance greeting you as you come in. Our Address to Frank Alley Parking Lot: 2986 N. Fairview Rd. West Branch If you are new to our trails, we tend to call our trails the East side & West side (of Trail 6) The West side is more open with less turns & more straight runs. East side has many more Hairpin turns, & narrow at times. Your forearms get a good workout! But it also gets you a chance to take a break at our warming shed. Riding both sides makes for a fun day! Trails are quite icy and fast but still a decent track. We are not going to be able to track it today and will reevaluate conditions tomorrow.

With daytime temps reaching 40 this week the trails have got a bit sloppy and thin. It's been to warm to groom during the day and limited at night. The trails in the U.P., North and far west, are still in fair to good shape with some thin corners and icy spots. The Tip of the Mitt and eastern U.P. did pick up 3-5 inches of wet snow yesterday and it got into the teens last night so I'm thinking today is the day. Most of the lower is in rough shape and with the warm temps for the weekend they will not last long, north or south. I'm going to ride the far northern lower today and will let you know what I find. Till next time, have fun, be safe, and I'll see you on the trail. DMG

Most all of Michigan has decent snow now and the cold temps have kept the trails tight. In the lower east to west has fair to good conditions with areas west of I-75 with very good conditions in the LE snow belts. The U.P. also is in good shape with the western end and the Lake Superior snowbelts in excellent shape. The extreme cold is now retreating with temps back in the 20's for the weekend with some light snow. A warm up comes in next week and so get out and ride cause you never now how long it will last. Till next time, have fun, be safe, and I'll see you on the trail. DMG

Hello Riders!… I rode our trails yesterday, and boy other than some Icy corners here and there, they were Awesome. We truly have been blessed with snow & cold, & the fall Prep is paying off... You won't find too many smoother Trails in the state right now. Only hiccup right now is one of our Tractors is down, so will be Grooming around the clock. PLEASE slow down in the corners & watch out for the Groomer & anyone coming around the bend... Now is the time to ride! So bundle up and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.. When you are riding, be careful in the icy corners, Watch out for logging past Rose city road. Ride right, ride sober, ride safe If you are new to our trails, we tend to call our trails the East side & West side (of Trail 6) The West side is more open with less turns & more straight runs. East side has many more Hairpin turns, & narrow at times. Your forearms get a good workout! But it also gets you a chance to take a break at our warming shed. Riding both sides makes for a fun day!
