Irons Park is located in the City around the West Branch of the Rifle River off Valley Street & Shrigley Street. The park was named after the original land owner, Archie Irons. He owned part of the park property and a local grocery store. In 1955 the property was sold and given to the City of West Branch. It has seen many additions and changes over the years, but stands as a beloved place to enjoy the outdoors. Many events are held in the park yearly like an Easter egg hunt, Humane Society Mutt March, Summer Music Series, Victorian Art Fair, fishing derby and duck races to name a few.

The Park is the home of Fort Austin, in memory of Austin Clark, which is a huge multi structural modern wooden playscape that kids of all ages will love! It is a must see.

Within approximately the 10 to 12 acre park offers two covered pavilions, one gazebo that can be reserved for family gatherings or events. Also within the park are two tennis courts, basketball courts, picnic tables, grills and two bathroom facilities.

Want a perfect spot for a picnic? Irons Park is the ideal spot with grassy areas to lay down a blanket or use the picnic tables and grills. One thing you will notice in Irons Park are the trees that shade a majority of the park.

Is walking or riding bikes your passion? The Rivertrail is a 5 mile looped paved walking/biking path that runs along the river through the park and continues across the street through the baseball fields.

Irons Park also gets visitors in the winter months. The hill behind the tennis courts are used as a sledding hill and the tennis courts are used as an ice rink, weather permitting.
